I have mixed feelings about giving  foreign aid to Egypt.   U.S. law requires that we must suspend taxpayer funding to countries where a democratically elected government is deposed by a military coup.  Morsi might have been elected in a democratic election by the Egyptian people but being that he was part of the Muslim Brotherhood, his plans for Egypt were anything but democratic.  He  was going in the direction of creating  a total Islamic state which would not be helpful to the region.

Possibily the military can work together with the other groups in Egypt toward a true democratic election in the near future.   It might be helpful to provide some economic aid for the citizens of Egypt but I think we need to see what transpires first.
