Gee, if Obama obeys that law, he might signal a willingness to obey other laws. I don't see that happening but it would be a good trend. I have pro-Israel friends who tell me that Israel would be better off if we ended all aid to the region. It's a thought.

If the US is as broke  as they say, we should not be giving money to a lot of those countries. Just because it has always been done, it is time to stop the money flow.

I say follow thru until further notice - continued vigilance should be held relevant to Eygpt's present day situation - typically, such a held up amount to be transferred brings about negotiation considerations.

My thoughts are pretty basic:  Why is a country that is over 17 trillion dollars in debt sending $1.5 billion in foreign aid to Egypt in the first place?  Hello Congress!  Let’s take care of the U.S. first and when we have an excess then worry about other countries.

I wish we could do like Governor Rick Perry suggested in some presidential debates--give to our friends and not to our enemies.  Of course, while Egypt is in this flux, we really don't know which camp they fall into.  Morsi was no friend.  Let's hope that the people are able to have a democratic election…

I'm not in favor of the aid, with or without Morsi. Funding the Muslim Brotherhood was ridiculous and wrong. Funding an unknown entity is ludicrous, and, as Senator McCain points out, illegal.

I think he didn't say anything about Fighter jets going to the Muslim Brotherhood. Now that Egypt seems headed on the right track he's all about pulling funding?
