I find this staggering. The fact that 39% of women think abortion is the most important issue is beyond belief. I would be curious to know how many of that 39% were pro life. It seems to be the rule of thumb that most women who rank abortion as their top issue are pro choice but it would be interesting to know. In this election, I think many pro life women were voting because of the health care mandates and the intrusion into religious liberty. I still think it does not speak well for women if abortion is their number one issue. These women tend to be very ill informed and very narrowly focused. The only way we will ever reach those women is with massive education. I do believe that if the Republican party moves away from the issue of life and tries to moderate, it will be the end of the party. A third party will emerge and Democrats will have won.
