The credibility of the author, having served in several administrations, in a bipartisan manner, certainly makes the case stronger.  He is not the first author to go after a sitting president and his administration, and probably won't be the last.  The media will cover for Obama and make this look like a man with a vendetta getting back at an administration for being replaced.  However, Gates' book will do damage.
