Senator Reid is a total socialist, believing that government is the answer to all of our needs. He has this cradle to the grave mentality that, unfortunately, is taking root in America. I am thinking of my four-year-old granddaughter who is constantly telling me, "I can do it by myself." It thrills me to see her learning and wanting to take care of things rather than looking to Grandma to do it all for her. This, to me, is normal behavior, and it paves the way to independence and self fulfillment. To create an atmosphere of dependence only cripples an individual as well as a country. It ultimately puts the power in the hands of a few elite who don't really care about the people. They care only about themselves and their own personal agendas.
I saw a billboard the other day that said, "Someone should create a Department of Common Sense." That department could start by reducing government by at least fifty percent, implementing term limits and sending socialists like Harry Reid far from Washington. When that happens, we can declare a new "Independence Day."
