I would choose Rick Santorum for person of the year, for running a strong campaign despite adversity, then showing loyalty to his opponent, working hard through the general election.  He continues to organize conservatives in his Patriot Voices, speaking out at a time when most are tired and discouraged.

The American Soldier.  The President has been TIME's Man of the Year.   Once is enough.
