Good for him!! They should be protected for their first amendment rights for heaven's sake!

I think the proposed amendment to protect our soldiers targeted for their Christian or conservative leanings is a good idea.  It is a shame however, that someone has to introduce such an amendment since our founding fathers  established our county with religious and political freedom for all.

It appears that political/governmental timing spent on this type of identified amendment is a bit "overkill" - indeed, the "religious" issue is serious but could be resolved by being brought to insider military governing attention.

They should not have to give up their rights to serve in the military.

As a child of the Cold War it seemed impossible that the ideals and vigilance of the day would ever allow us to be destroyed from within. That day has changed and those ideals have been rewritten. Now we write laws to protect them as if they were odd and rare.

It is a sad statement that a congressman has to propose an amendment to protect soldiers from being targeted by others in the military for expressing his personal views.  Why is it that everyone seems to be protected from harassment and discrimination except those who have conservative political leanings or profess to be a Christian? …

No soldiers should be denied any of their rights, particularly not their right to freedom of religion, and to practice that however they please, when fighting for their country.  The tyranny of political correctness from this administration is stifling and completely unacceptable.
