I don't think it impacts the race, but I do think it's sad that the NRCC is so sensitive to publicity. They knew he had ongoing marital problems, young children, a vindictive wife, etc. There were lots of reasons not to support him in the first place and to maybe weigh in on the side…

The NRCC made clear that the Republican candidate in the race is experienced and knows what is required to run a campaign.  Their services and engagement are not necessary – the candidate does not appear to fit the “Young Gun” profile for assistance.
