WHY is such a law even necessary?!?!  It is a sad commentary on the state of affairs when a Christian soldier is reprimanded for reading a conservative author's book because someone "might be offended".  Has our military brass become so 'politically correct" ?

I think the proposed amendment to protect our soldiers targeted for their Christian or conservative leanings is a good idea.  It is a shame however, that someone has to introduce such an amendment since our founding fathers  established our county with religious and political freedom for all.

It appears that political/governmental timing spent on this type of identified amendment is a bit "overkill" - indeed, the "religious" issue is serious but could be resolved by being brought to insider military governing attention.

They should not have to give up their rights to serve in the military.

As a child of the Cold War it seemed impossible that the ideals and vigilance of the day would ever allow us to be destroyed from within. That day has changed and those ideals have been rewritten. Now we write laws to protect them as if they were odd and rare.
