I can’t help but think back to 2008 Candidate Obama’s statement that, if he were to be elected, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”…

It is a little puzzling to me why the DHS has purchased over 1.6 Billion rounds of ammunition.  This is especially puzzling since the Obama administration is trying to push hard for gun control for the average citizen.  What is the purpose for their amount of ammo if citizens have their own guns taken away…

Gee, I wonder what they know that they don't want us to know?

I think it is disturbing and I do not trust this behavior under the current administration.

USA Department of Homeland Security must assess overall ammunition requirements - at times, purchases are made based upon current offerings & pricings - and at times, the purchases are made based upon future conflict need prediction - DHS also assesses the distribution of open warehouse site holdings for calendar distribution timing...

I think they are sucking up the supply so that citizens have a hard time getting ammunition and a more expensive purchase.

They are either trying to buy up the national inventory so Americans can't, or they have plans for it.  What those plans may be could be considered by some as "conspiracy theories".  However, why would in the past three weeks, there be Blackhawks, FBI, CIA as well as local police taking over cities like Miami…

Sounds like they don't want the average American to have ammo.  We don't need Big Brother protecting us.
