Laura Rambeau Lee(1)This infighting within the GOP damages the entire Republican party.  One never sees a Democrat criticize a fellow legislator over anything, no matter how immoral, stupid, or illegal.  If the Republican party is to survive, it must offer a real alternative to what the Democrats are selling.  Right now, all the low information voter hears is that the Republicans caused the government shutdown.  Why is no one speaking the truth to the media? Instead, they are pointing fingers at each other within the party over its unsuccessful strategy.  Earlier I had posted that I thought the president just might delay the individual mandate, one of the requests submitted with the continuing resolution.  I should have realized the president would never allow himself to appear to cave to this request, even though it makes a lot of sense, especially with all of the problems surrounding the Affordable Care Act web site.  Instead, he will tell everyone it is his decision, for the sake of fairness and equality.  And once again, he looks good, and the Republicans look bad.  I do not understand why the Republicans are not speaking out as one voice to stop what the president is doing to our country.  Is there no one who can appeal to the masses and explain logically and appeal emotionally to the absolute truth and fairness of the system of governance our founding fathers envisioned?  We need to find that voice and we must primary out established moderate/progressive Republicans who are doing real damage to the Republican brand.
