Since we know on which side of the political spectrum both CNN and NBC fall, it is a good bet that these movies will portray Hillary Clinton in an overly positive light. While they have every right to create and air movies about her, there is little doubt that they will be a political statement in support of her 2016 presidential run. I do not think we need to wait and see them before we can make such a conclusion. I believe the Republican presidential candidate debates will be heavily viewed, perhaps even more than in 2012. There are several other networks that will benefit from this RNC decision and will jump at the opportunity to partner with the RNC to air the debates and enjoy the boost they would bring to their viewership numbers and advertising revenue.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus wrote in a letter to NBC: “Your company has expressly stated that your choice to air the miniseries in the near future would avoid concerns of running afoul of equal time election laws,” he wrote. “This suggests a deliberate attempt at influencing American political opinion in favor a preferred candidate, not to mention a guilty conscience.”

I believe he makes a valid point.
