It amazes me how women today continue to be swayed by this rhetoric.  We have had the power for over half a century now to decide if and when we will become pregnant.  Birth control methods of all types have been available at little or no cost to us.  Just recently the morning after pill became available over the counter and, although many of us do not agree with the decision, any person of any age can purchase it.  With all of this available to us, why is abortion still such a sacred right in the mind of the left?  At some point, women must realize they have to be responsible for their actions and to use birth control to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.  Abortion allows women to continue to play the victim and be at the mercy of their or their partner’s irresponsibility.  They do not have to deal with the consequences of their actions.  I do not believe those who supported a woman’s right to abortion in 1973 would have believed forty years later there would have been nearly fifty million babies aborted.  Abortion was supposed to be safe, legal, and rare.  Today it is legal and safe, but it is definitely not rare.  This is not about health policy.  The “Affordable” Health Care Act provides that women’s health care services and birth control be delivered without a co-pay.  What more can society do to assure women they have complete control over their bodies?  There is a much deeper societal sickness at issue when a woman who gets pregnant waits five months to get an abortion.  This lack of respect for life is very troubling and is symbolic of the moral degradation occurring in our country.
