This is the way I put it in my poem/song "One Nation Under God."

"Then true faith, not barred from public life, nor treated with disdain,

Would not be governed by the state, but on a higher plane.

"Endowed by our Creator" - Can there be, then, any doubt?

How can we speak of liberty, and leave its Author out?"
