My grandmother called this Decoration Day.  Decoration Day originated after the Civil War to honor the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in that war.  It is now Memorial Day and honors all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Thankful for all the men and women who lost their lives defending our freedoms.
