I received a brochure about Common Core when our new county superintendent spoke to our Republican Women's Club. As a retired teacher, I can truthfully say that nationwide curriculum would be helpful to students. Each state has a different sequence of courses. When a student moves from one state to another (through no choice of his or her own), the student is sometimes placed in courses already taken or out of sequence--for example in math or English courses.
If, however, the idea behind Common Core is to indoctrinate students with an agenda other than the American way of life, then that's a no-no.
