Lady Margaret Thatcher was too honest to put her finger to the wind or check the opinion pages. She knew what was good for the people of Great Britain and she worked diligently toward that end. She prevailed and the quality of life improved for millions of her people. Her drive toward economic freedom and equality took her outside her homeland and she played a significant part in the deliverance of the Soviet people from oppressive communism. She provided a home for her husband and children and remained interested in family life. I appreciated her for her stand on life and the protection of the unborn as well as her support of men and women in the traditional marriage relationship. None are perfect and she would not want to be held to such a standard in death just as she did not in life. She was a great person of the 20th century.
