Hmm let me do the calculation.  If Pres Obama makes $400,000 a year and returns 5% to the treasury that comes out to.....$20,000.   Wow!  Nice symbolic gesture and all of that, but given all his perks and his endless years of vacations on the taxpayers' dime, it is almost laughable.

Like many I am very worried about our nearly $17 trillion debt, which in actuality is probably nearing $100 trillion due to unfunded liabilities, etc.   But call me a cynic, because I'd  rather this president who is a self-proclaimed "lazy" person actually get down to the job of being president and hey maybe even submit that pesky budget on time for once.  Mr President, worry less about PR , do your job and keep your 5%.
