While I agree that we must review our immigration policies and somehow deal with border security, I have not yet seen a plan with which I can agree. It seems to me that border security is a separate issue. I do not see how we can completely close our southern border with Mexico as is the wish of so many and completely ignore the problems with the northern, eastern, and western borders. As for dealing with the children of illegal immigrants, many of those children are American citizens by virtue of being born on American soil. We would need to change the Constitution to do so. I would like to read and review the study from the Texas Federation. My final thoughts on this issue are that I don't have a solution and that there are other vital issues facing this country that need to be resolved. So, immigration reform is rather low on my list of priorities.
