I agree 100% with the judge. All of these efforts of “social engineering” will not help our obesity problem in America. People should be allowed to drink and eat whatever they choose. This also creates an additional regulation on businesses, which is the last thing we need in this economy. I believe the problem of obesity lies with the genetically modified foods we have had in our food supply since 1994, when the FDA stated, without any testing, that GMO foods are no different than the natural product. Interestingly, the FDA director at the time was Michael Taylor, who is now President Obama’s Food Safety Czar. Between government gigs, he worked for Monsanto, one of the largest GMO food producers in the world. If you want to fight obesity, eliminate GMO foods. The bovine growth hormones (rGBH and rBST) in our dairy products alone have been shown to effect early onset puberty, diabetes, autism, immunological diseases, to name just a few. Many developed countries have banned GMOs in their foods, including England, Canada, Australia, Japan among others. All foods which contain dried milk, such as baby formulas and cereals, probably contain hormone treated cows unless they are labeled that they do not.
