I can’t help but think back to 2008 Candidate Obama’s statement that, if he were to be elected, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” In July of 2012, FEMA announced the creation of its Youth Preparedness Council, and on September 13, 2012, DHS announced the inauguration of the first FEMA class of 231 members.

President Obama signed Executive Order 13603 on March 16, 2012, titled National Defense Resources Preparedness, which assigned responsibility to the Secretary of Homeland Security to advise the President on issues of national defense to prioritize and “to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote national defense”, to include food, energy, water, healthcare services, construction materials, and all forms of civil transportation.

Are these events related?  They raise concerns, and I am surprised that there has not been more media coverage or congressional inquiry into these reports.  In addition, I read where much of the ammunition ordered was for hollow point rounds, which are known to be used for one thing only – killing people.

One thing is certain, there has been a run on ammunition and it is getting harder to buy.  Walmart has limited purchases to three boxes per customer.
