Since Senator Paul spent considerable time addressing Obama spying (NSA) and privacy rights, it would seem that voters both liberal and conservative would welcome his remarks. I think that issue would be common for any Republican. I am not sure if older speakers would be as welcome as younger speakers and Cruz and Rubio would still fit into the younger category. Now the points he made about immigration reform may set him apart. I am not sure if 400 students are a good sampling. It would seem that the majority would be the conservative students who were waiting for one of their own to be allowed to speak. I don't think I have enough information to give me any indication of where this would place Senator Paul in the line up of Republicans for POTUS.
