I think the more pertinent question to ask is this: How does making otherwise law-abiding firearm owners into overnight criminals who are facing jail time help to create a "safer" environment in the state of Connecticut? This push simply reveals the true intent of those who pushed so vehemently to pass this legislation--to take yet another step toward the ultimate criminalization of firearms ownership. This is the very definition of infringement of the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and only serves to make criminals of innocent citizens who are exercising this fundamental right.
