My first reaction to this question is no, we do not negotiate with terrorists.  But, as it appears we have lost any semblance of victory in Afghanistan and will be pulling troops out in the very near future and the Taliban will once more take control of the country, I would support a negotiation to bring this soldier home. He has been held by the Taliban since 2009.  I would just hope that our government makes sure the GITMO detainees remain where they are sent.  Let Karzai deal with the Taliban and vice versa.
