What this textbook is saying is simply not true. President Ronald Reagan appointed nearly 1400 women to policy making positions and he appointed the first female Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O’Connor. So much of our history is being revised by progressives and taught to our children.
Education has become less about education and more about indoctrination. They are teaching them what to think, not how to think. Having returned to college to finish my bachelor’s degree after many years I found myself horrified at how they were teaching American history and most other America based subjects. I have never heard so much discussion about race, class, sex, and religion in my life. I received a degree in American Studies with a concentration on Communication and Media and every class I took was presented to indoctrinate students into believing America is a horrible place, the American Dream is a myth, and we owe reparations for slavery and for our aggression all over the world. It is all about social, economic, and environmental justice. There are thousands of textbooks supporting these assertions. It was a real challenge to address the false narratives I was reading and really helped hone my arguments for traditionalism and conservatism. I proudly say I received my Bachelor’s Degree in “Bitterness Studies” because that is truly how it feels.
With federal standards being forced on the states through the Common Core State Standards for kindergarten through twelfth grade this indoctrination is beginning at even earlier ages. The progressives have inserted their acolytes in our liberal arts institutions and the graduates from these colleges and universities are now teaching our children and grandchildren. We must take back the education of our children to the state and local level.
