I don't think school board elections should be partisan. I also think there are certain county wide elections that should not be partisan. Those include: Sheriff, coroner, probate judge, and solicitor. Those jobs need to be about qualifications, experience and ability. While it would be best for our city elections in Florence to be non-partisan, I feel like from that point on it is not a good idea to have non partisan elections. It does nothing to help build the local county parties to have non partisan county level elections. If these county parties have nothing to work for then they may as well cease to exist.
