Chris Christie did what a leader is supposed to do; he stood up and spoke for over an hour openly to the press, and took full responsibility for what his government and employees' involvement in planning the "Bridgegate" fiasco. He also admitted that, as the governor of New Jersey, he was loyal to his people and he apologized, saying he was embarrassed and humiliated and he took swift action to terminate his deputy chief of staff after it was in fact revealed through e-mails that political motivations were the reason for the highway closing. He put his entire political future on the line. He has been very quick to openly talk with the press. In stark contrast, when the IRS specifically targeted conservative groups, and Christian organization, for review, President Obama basically said he had "no knowledge of it until it hit the papers". The media did NOT railroad him as the leader and chief executive officer of our entire country. The press needs to focus more on the leader of our country allowing discrimination against religious groups, primarily Christians, and find out why our President does not have knowledge of the IRS daily activities. The press needs to ask our President specifically why he has attended less than half of his Presidential Daily Briefings, reviewing critical intelligence threats to our country. We have a President who has "no knowledge" of most of what his administration is doing, and yet, the press is focusing on Christie's Bridgegate hype. Christie showed his loyal commitment to his constituents by speaking directly to them and answering ALL the questions and accepting full responsibility. The President of the United States has not answered questions, but has played golf instead. Our country has to realize that the media has actually become like a "4th branch of government", and we, the American people, need to seriously push for the media to report ALL news in the same manner. It is obvious that the press views Christie as a presidential contender in 2016, and they have worked every angle to disparage his leadership capabilities. I do not think this media hype will hurt Christie, because it is clearly obvious the press skews their coverage.
