The Prime Minister is exactly correct. It would appear that both Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense are not aware of the historical perspective these negotiations have. This is not a new situation - or one that just began under the Obama administration or since these two gentlemen were put into their respective roles. To allow a country that is driven to see the complete and utter demise of another country that is a long time ally of the US, to have access to nuclear grade weaponry goes contrary to what we have spent decades trying to avoid.
Case in point, on CBS's Face The Nation Sunday, Secretary Panetta observed that a recent lesson learned from threatening Iran with an F-16 raid after they shot down a US drone and backed off, was that, "the lesson I guess I draw from this is you'd better operate from a position of strength if you want to deal with the Iranians."
Huh. Really . . . What military person, student of history during the cold war-or anyone ALIVE in the 80's or even the Bay of Pigs encounter in the early '60s.
I hope they listen to the Prime Minister.
