One of my most memorable Thanksgivings was several years ago when my brother Rick and his family, my son Michael, and myself journeyed to Wisconsin  to share the holiday with our only Uncle, Bill Bowie.  The feast was held at his daughter’s home and we all arrived around the noon hour only to hear her say, “I didn’t know it would take a turkey so long to cook in a slow roaster…it is far from done!”  Easy fix.  Snacked until later and had the time of our lives.
