In 2011, at the NFRW convention in Kansas City, a survey was conducted of which one of the questions was whether, as woman, we vote by gender - or by the candidate. It was so exhilarating that over 90-some percent of those who took the survey said that they voted for the person.
So as we go to the Summit tomorrow and hear the wonderful line up of speakers, panel members and distinguished guests, that we can come away from it with a message of 1. how women are most certainly needed at the table -- meaning board/conference room in addition to the kitchen . . . but also 2. that the unifying thought is that what unites us are the bonds of preserving our freedoms, influencing the education system to be based on fact not feelings, and yes -- how to combat the destructive narrative that there is a 'war on women'. Make no mistake, we are at war, but with those that wish to divide Americans with gender and race-baiting tactics.
We have to have a message of inclusion. One that does not seek to differentiate the 'us' from the 'them'. Rather we need to say,' You're concerned about the state of this country -- So am I!!
We need to focus on what is common among women -- and all Americans -- not just what makes us different.
Let's face it Ladies. . . We have the power, the ability to lead. We need women who want to get out there and do it -- and we win!!
