It seems now that the Justice Department and the FBI "grossly overstated the scope of a mortgage fraud crackdown"?  How convenient that this "mortgage fraud was grossly overstated" right before the Presidential election and of course the Administration raved about the scope of this crackdown.  Now  9 months after the election another story comes out?

I am sure the Justice Department will acknowledge any report the White House makes, but I am concerned to  hear that the FBI overstated it as well.  One would think that before a story is released that these government departments would have verified all the numbers and situations first, unless they were in a rush to get the story out before the election.  What could have been their reason for not verifying the exact details first?
