The race baiters and those who make their living keeping racial issues at the forefront of discussion and dissension in America have grown tiresome. If these people were truly dedicated to helping blacks in America, they would stop promoting policies which enable seventy-three percent of black babies to be born to single mothers and relieve black men from taking responsibility for their actions and decisions. The high crime rate in the black community can be directly linked to the lack of a strong father figure in young black men’s lives. These leaders should encourage traditional values, which include getting a good education and not getting pregnant before marriage. Statistics show that if one graduates high school and marries before having children, the chance of living in poverty is about two percent. Isn’t it about time to end such groups as the Congressional Black Caucus? Our Constitution is based on the rights of the individual, not special groups or classes of people. We are all Americans and our leaders should be uniting us, not dividing us. I honestly believe that most individuals, no matter what color, race, or ethnic background, get along with one another in this great melting pot known as America. Those who seek to keep the bitterness and anger for the sins of the past alive are doing it for personal gain or for other motives not in the best interests of this country.
I am disappointed with this administration and their actions over the Zimmerman verdict. President Obama could be such a great role model and example for young black children. He exemplifies what can be achieved by anyone in this country if they take personal responsibility for their lives, resolve to get a good education, and raise healthy children in a loving family where both parents love them and are engaged and involved in their lives.
