Last December the 7th U.S. Circuit Appeals Court ruled that the Illinois concealed carry ban was unconstitutional and gave it until July 9th to pass a law.  The concealed carry bill passed both the Illinois House and Senate with better than a three-fifths majority.  Apparently Governor Quinn sat on this bill for nearly a month before marking it up and returning it to the state legislature.  He is obviously playing to the political left due to an upcoming election season with serious challengers within his party.  One would hope the Illinois legislature prevails and they finally join the other 49 states in the country that allow public concealed carry of firearms.  It is time for Illinois to join the rest of the states in affirming the constitutional rights of individuals under the Second Amendment.
