Recently a young professional African-American woman told me that the veterans of WWII were her heroes - because without them and their sacrifices, she would not exist.  She recognized that if Hitler had won, and his policies of Aryan superiority had continued, all humans of color would have been exterminated, or at the very least, enslaved.

Maybe President Obama just forgot. Or he and his staff did not know that this is a day of supreme sacrifice that we traditionally acknowledge with reverence. Maybe he didn't get the memo.  Maybe, the significance of D-Day mentioned above just never registered to him.

We can give them the benefit of the doubt, but if so, that is just one more example that he and his staff do not begin to comprehend the very Foundations that built and support our nation, that Americans have been willing to fight and die for both here and overseas, and that others are trying to emulate around the world.

This would explain why so many of his policies and decisions are undermining the very existence of our Democracy and its ability to offer and protect Freedom.
