The fact that Mr. Obama has not commemorated D-Day since 2010 is a slap in the face to the Greatest Generation and all those who fought for our freedom. So many brave Americans paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom on the beaches of Normandy, June 6, 1944. Many more would die, suffer horrible injuries and see their friends die as our troops fought and pushed back Hitler and the German army to finally win victory on the European front May 8, 1945!
It is because of these brave Americans who gave their all and never asked for any special treatment when they came home that we live in freedom today. They simply felt it was their duty to protect America when we were attacked. America should always remember and honor this special generation for all they did to protect our country.
We must never forget! Commemorating D-Day is a way to honor those who gave their all, even their lives for freedom. The President of the United States should be the one who leads that memorial. Unfortunately our current president does not believe in remembering those who not only helped keep America free but also helped to liberate Europe from Nazi tyranny.
