We have family who fought in the Revolutionary War, one side for the Patriot cause and one side for the British. The interesting thing is that as the British men lived here and gained a love for the land they defected to the Patriot cause and remained. Many family members fought in the Civil War. Both grandfathers fought in World War I. My father was a combat veteran in the Punch Bowl of Korea. A cousin survived the burning of the USS Forestal in Vietnam. So many thanks to every man and woman who inconvenienced themselves and put their lives on the line for future generations.
