An article on May 1, 2013 in the New York Times reported that Russia is involved in a nuclear buildup and will deploy their new Yars-M Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). They have developed a new fuel which will be able to boost the missile faster than American technology and its global missile defense system will be able to intercept it. Russia is also taking advantage of an omission in the 2010 START II Treaty by developing new rail-based missiles, anticipated to be deployed in 2020. This had been prohibited in earlier START treaties. While Russia seems intent on modernizing and building up their missile systems, the United States is on a course to cut its nuclear capabilities and assist the Russians with our military secrets. What could possibly go wrong?
