To my knowledge, Common Core was set up by the administration to make sure all schools were teaching the same curriculum. Again, I have not read the specific standards, but I have heard comments that there will be no more text books, students will be using only computers, that will not be teaching history, math, etc., but will be learning by reading documents and manuals. The Obama administration had some extra funds to use for education during Mr.Obama's first term and many states took the bait not realizing they were signing on to a program they now have to stay with it. Teachers and schools will have to teach the common core curriculum whether they like it or not!
To me this sounds like another move to completely control the American people. What was once our great American education system that enabled us to reach the moon, literally, and graduate the top doctors, scientists, and financial minds in the world, has been getting lower and lower grades over the past number if years! Common Core sounds like the last chapter in turning education into brain washing all our students and controlling how they will think, act, and eventually vote. It sounds like the dumbing down of America which I fear will see the destruction of America Exceptionalism and in so doing will be the end of the American Dream!
It is because of hard work and opportunities that America has always stood for that so many of us can live the life we are living today!
The American voters need a wake up call to reality before it is too late, or is it already too late?
