The Leftists were calling for this but they are already attacking him for his Right-wing views. The attacks have been helpful in one way. Catholics in this country became accustomed the wringing our hands over the unorthodox, leftist inspired views of many in the Latin clergy. The Jesuits have long been liberal as well. But yesterday I heard a Protestant friend say: I wasn't too sure about a Latin American Jesuit, but when I heard the liberal media repeating stories about how right-wing he is, even accusing him of betraying people to the death squads, I felt much better.

What is being said about the Pope now, is exactly what was said about Pius XII, that these men did not do enough to oppose politically-inspired evil.  But they were not political leaders. Even so, the stories from eye-witness survivors of the terrible times in Germany and Argentina, have been testaments to the bravery and pro-life (in all senses) leadership of the work of these two men. Those who love the Lord and are effective in this fallen world in bringing men to Him, earn the hatred of Satan, and his handmaidens and handmen are going to attack them. By their enemies, we shall know them.
May this new Pope, an obviously deeply spiritual man, have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit to combat the evil of our times. May the Lord bless him and keep him, may He let his face shine upon him, and may He hold him in the palm of His hand. God bless Pope Francis.
