The most significant part of the State of the Union was the reassurance that the President does not have any plans to change his policies for the next 4 years.  He laid out a number of new entitlement programs and then told us these programs would not cost one dime of additional money.  He also spoke about the  new "Fix it First" program which sounds very much like the "Shovel Ready " program.  Does changing the name of an unsuccessful "program " help it to  work any better? His plans for national security continue to be very vague and ineffective, but since he mentioned that the terrorist groups are no longer very active I guess we have nothing  to worry about.  The President also spoke about his hope for bipartisanship while at the same time chastising Republicans for not giving in to his demands immediately!

The most interesting comment made by the President was "government shouldn't make promises we can't keep".   I can't wait to see how he keeps his promise for more entitlement programs that will not cost taxpayers one dime of additional money (maybe just a few trillion dollars)?
