The bipartisan Senate proposal for comprehensive immigration reform is a start.  However, this message from the White House gives me concern. “It’s a set of principles that mirror the president’s principles,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters at Monday’s briefing. "The president is expected to present his own proposal at an event in Las Vegas on Tuesday."

President Obama needs to step back and the purists from both sides of the party need to realize that in order to get an immigration bill passed there will be some concessions.
