Governor Jan Brewer has led our state and has a large number of items we are very proud of. Here are two:

September 18, 2012
Announces that, after more than two years, the heart of SB 1070 can finally take effect. With the federal court’s decision to lift the injunction, State and local officers will be empowered to inquire about an individual’s immigration status as part of a legal stop or detention and when the officer has reasonable suspicion. “It is not enough that SB 1070 be enforced. It must be enforced efficiently, effectively and in harmony with the Constitution and civil rights. I have full faith and confidence that Arizona’s State and local law enforcement officers are prepared for this task.”

May 31, 2012
Announces members of the Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) Simplification Task Force. The task force, established through an Executive Order issued on May 12, consists of a dozen of the State’s leading experts on tax policy. Members have been charged with issuing recommendations on how the Arizona sales tax code can be made simpler and easier for taxpayers to comply with and the State to administer.
