Governor Susana Martinez has a particularly tough road to travel to pass her initiatives. She has a totally Democrat legislature to work with. She has a major initiative of repealing a bill that gives illegal immigrants state driver's licenses. Population polls show 70% or 80% of the voters agree with her and the legislature still refuses to pass those bills. She worked hard in the election to replace the leaders against her bills and unseated one long standing House leader but lost the Senate race. She is doing a good job and enjoys good rankings from the voters but it is a hard, bumpy road.
