I don't think it says anything about the current administration.  What is says is that individuals forget where their power comes from.  They think the power is theirs and that they deserve it.  Arrogance leads to a fall.   I have often heard that any military person who attains the rank of general is something of a politician.  The other night I saw something on television which reminded me why:  At most there can only be (I think I am correct in this) slightly fewer than 250 generals on active duty at any one time.  It takes a lot of something to rise to that rank.
