Today’s Woman in the Lens features Indiana’s own, Jackie Walorski, running for their 2nd Congressional District. This Hoosier is a humanitarian who before coming back to Indiana and running for the state legislature, founded an agency while in Romania that provided much-needed medical supplies to the country’s impoverished children. She is a strong example of “Building leaders of tomorrow by empowering women today.” Mrs. Walorski’s work on behalf of children in both her humanitarian service and her legislative accomplishments is admirable.
Jackie Walorski is from South Bend, Indiana. After her graduation from Taylor University, she started her career as a television reporter. She later became a Development Director to raise money for local colleges and universities. After she was married, she and her husband moved to Romania to serve in humanitarian efforts.
Mrs. Walorski was elected to her first of three terms in the Indiana House of Representatives in 2004. She rose quickly to leadership becoming the Assistant Floor Leader for the Republican Caucus. She is known for her work on behalf of children, born and unborn, her defense of the 2nd Amendment, and her dedication to civil liberties. Her tenacious leadership fighting taxes and wasteful spending made her a rock star in Indiana’s conservative movement. Her efforts on behalf of small business have earned her the coveted endorsements of the National Federation of Independent Businesses and both the U.S. and Indiana Chambers of Commerce.
Palladian View is pleased to spotlight this conservative Republican woman leader who has truly worked for causes greater than herself and defended our liberties in the Indiana state legislature. We look forward to seeing what she will bring to Congress!
