Today is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, a recognized state holiday or day of observance in 42 states. Juneteenth commemorates the ending of slavery in the US. I would not have peace talks with anyone over there, but I would promptly withdraw all American troops, bring them home and beef up the American military here at home. In the future, if any country attacks the USA or plots attacks, I would not hesitate to drop a bomb. I know this sounds cruel to some, but it is also cruel to sacrifice American lives, dealing with an enemy that is not interested in peace but in world domination. We learned this lesson in World War II when we dropped the bomb that ended the war instead of allowing more Americans and allies to die a few at a time.

I don’t believe this administration has the grit to do this, and I certainly don’t like the idea of killing innocent people. However, they killed a couple of thousand innocent Americans on September 11 in New York and celebrated when they did it. The enemy knows only one language, and unfortunately this is the world we live in today. Our government’s primary function should be to keep our citizens safe. Period.

Why should we participate in this at all. We are the enemy and they won’t stop until we are destroyed. Talks between the US and Taliban are meaningless.

I have my doubts how successful the peace talks will be with the Taliban. What will these talks cost an already debt-ridden US? There will probably be massive conditions. Why is a Christian nation negotiating with a country that oppresses freedom and religion? It is just another strategy for President Obama to let his liberal base think he believes in peace not war. The Taliban in the past has pledged to defeat the Americans. How can they be trusted now?
